Scholar–Practitioner Symposium Series
While our work is grounded in research, we believe that meaningful progress happens at the intersection of science and practice.
That is why, in addition to presenting at leading scholarly and practitioner conferences, we actively create spaces where researchers and practitioners can engage in dialogue and learn from one another. One of these initiatives is our annual scholar–practitioner symposium dedicated to peer coaching.
These symposia bring together diverse perspectives from academia and industry to exchange ideas, share experiences, and foster meaningful dialogue and collaborative learning.
You may find information about the upcoming symposium below.
Peer Coaching Groups:
A Safe Harbor for Leaders
Scholar–Practitioner Symposium
at the Academy of Management 2026
Date: August 2026
Location: Philadelphia, USA
Organizer, Facilitator: Roman Terekhin, Babson College
The diverse expertise of the panelists allows us to examine peer coaching groups (PCGs) from multiple perspectives, including psychological safety, leadership identity and meaning, power and status dynamics, vicarious learning, and career barriers.
Together, these perspectives provide a comprehensive view of the conditions that enable peer coaching groups to support learning, connection, and leadership development. The session includes a general panel discussion and interactive roundtables, where practitioners share real-world designs of peer coaching groups and engage scholars in exploring the mechanisms that make these groups effective.
